(No Title)

I just wanted to make a quick note about how I don’t hear the topic of “Sigma Males” anymore.

I had been thinking about how many people (women included) enjoy toxic masculinity. Or, are trained / indoctrinated to look for it and see it as a sign of strength.

Now, I’m not immune from this. I have no doubt that my outbursts of anger and frustration come from that same, bad place. That being said, as I go through a separation in my marriage, I wonder how to translate my personality in to the man-typecast-du-jour. And what I had settled on is that in my best and dare I say, most often moments, I probably represent “Sigma Male” energy.

Then I realized, Wait, we don’t talk about that anymore. Why? My first (and probably not best) guess is that any man who would fall in to this category … doesn’t care about this category. That’s the whole point of all the “Sigma Male” descriptors.

But, I also thought that maybe the lack of talking about it also comes from some sort of fallout regarding the personality type (making a huge stretch to call it that). Any idea of fallout though, again, might just be projection of my own current separation.

Nevertheless, enough food-for-thought that I wanted to make a blogpost about it.
